Drawing inspiration from his music-melding hometown of Detroit - the town where Motown, rock & roll, blues, jazz, and punk melded together - edgy menswear designer John Varvatos employed the city's rough-and-tumble influences to define his charismatic pieces featuring slim-fit shirts, casually cool suits and cut-just-right denim. His connection to music is still felt at his Manhattan flagship store, the former site of the legendary venue CBGBs, and in smoldering ads featuring iconic musicians.
